My Super Duper Weekend

The past 4 days have been 4 extremely uber days.  :D
On Thursday I departed from my home in Thames in the morning to go to the airport, to farewell Stephie, who is in France for a year right this moment as I type this. Being at the airport reminded me how close it is to my departure, which is nearing quite rapidly!!! Only 12 days to go until I leave.  It's quite scary, but it is also quite exciting.

On the way to the airport, I have to cross the Kopu bridge.  It is a one way bridge and it's insanely old.  Last year in October, they started building the new bridge that they have had planned for quite a while.  It has been 11 months and quite a lot has happened, you can really see it starting to take shape!

So I had to say goodbye to Stephie, which was a somewhat sad moment, but a happy one too, as I know that I will be seeing her soon in Europe,  I'm going to visit her in France after I have been In Austria for a while.  I'm very, very excited.  A group of about 5 or 6 of us met at the airport to say bye, while some people couldn't come, due to being wrapped up in school.  I thought that after I has said bye, that I would head to Aria's, but seeing that my car was at Sarsfield street, she was driving me.  So it didn't happen straight away.  She ran into Kathy's mom, and they sat down for hours and talked.  My mom even managed to get herself invited to their family reunion that night.  Kathy and I were therefore stranded, and we managed to much away Tank juice and subway and cookies and drinks and apple slices.  Finally I managed to pry my mother away from her gossip session to go to Sarsfield street to get my car.

Finally.  I headed off to Aria's house for The rest of Thursday Friday and the weekend.  I was driving down St. Vincent's Ave, and I saw Emma walking home, So I gave her a ride down the hill to Arias.  Aria was sitting in her lounge discussing her uni grades with her Grandad, and soon after I got there he went to tea with her Grandad up in Remuera.  I sat on the couch eating Roast vege salad waiting for her to get back, as we had made plans to go to Bendon Outlet store.  Soon after three thirty we departed in my car to the airport.  Good chats ensued with Aria Emma and I trying to figure out where to go.  It was awesome once we got there, as everything, EVERY SINGLE THING was under $20.  I was like quite quite happy, and invested in 8 new bras, my total savings scraped up to $00 and I spent $160.  It was amazing.  When we got home Emma left for dinner, which was a nice breeze, so Aria and I got subway AND MacDonald's for dinner and played tetris and watched TV.  It was quite a feast and we talked heaps.  I like talking.  A lot.  We went to bed at 10:30 as Aria had to start her new job at Smith and Caughey's the next day.  We both forgot that Emma hasn't taken her key to dinner, so at 11:30 she arrived back with her friends and we had to wake up to let her in.  After that we couldn't sleep for ages and we laughed heaps at everything.  We haven't hung out like this in a long time.  It felt good to have a really decent catch up.

On Friday I drove her to work which started at 9, then went to Newmarket to wait for my doctor's appointment at 11.  I bought a paper and had a giant hot chocolate.  The doctor wasn't very nice that I went to, but luckily my prescription only cost $3 and there was no doctor's fee. After my appointment I went to watch The Expendables.  It was a very shoot shoot bang bang movie, full of action, but I liked it.  And I don't usually like action  movies.

After the movie I went to try and join the Auckland libraries group, but my proof of address was in Thames, even though I live more in Auckland.  I have to get proof of address with a bank statement in Auckland.  That shouldn't be hard, it just takes time.  I sat in my car and ate sushi for a couple of hours listening to music after that, because I forgot to get the key, stupid me, and I had to wait for Emma to get home.  Emma got home and packed really fast while I showered, then I drove her to the airport.  After dropping her off at the Air New Zealand terminal ( another reminder that I leave very soon :D) I drove into town to pick up Aria from work.  By this time it was 7:25 and she had been at work since 9:00, so she was really tired. She argued with Josh on the phone all the way home.  And when we got home, she argued some more.  And then some more.  And she decided that she didn't want to see Josh that night.  And seeing as we had drinks planned with Josh and Hamish and Rory, it was kind of awkward to cancel.

After Aria and Josh both called down ( And this all happened because Aria was too tired to go to TGT drinks)  we went to pick up Josh and go to Burgerfuelhairsprayed hair, he had just come from his show.  I had never met Rory.  And it was quite epic.  He is quite awesome.  He knows musicals like I know musicals and he is insanely good at singing.  And he can dance.  It's quite funny.  He tried to teach Hamish how to side step and click at the same time.  It turns out that Hamish can hardly side step and that he can't click.  Oh dear.  And then he tried to teach Hamish the box step.  Fail. Kind of.  Aria went to bed at this point because she was so tired from working ten hours that day, and soon after Josh went to bed too.  That left me Rory and Hamish downstairs, and we went through Josh's iPod playlist and played tons and tons of songs.  Lots of Pink Floyd, some Billy Joel and lots of Keane.  I do like Keane.  At about 1 Rory left and then it was just me and Hamish left.  We wreaked havoc on Rory's facebook page ( as he had left it open) Then Hamish continued to wreak havoc across everyone else's page.  He admitted his true feelings to Brierley ( I don't think she was very happy) and then by four my computer died and we just talked for ages. And he tried to recreate Rory's dance moves again.  Bad mistake.  He was quite DUI and it just made me laugh.  By 5:30 I had put him to bed and I went to bed too.  That Hamish boy is good value.

By the time I had woken up the next morning he was gone and Josh and Aria were still sleeping.   I cleaned up the downstairs, and got rid of the ants  and then just sat on my computer.  By two Aria and Josh were up. I made scrambled eggs, but one of the eggs rolled itself off the bench and smashed all over the floor.  Sad face.  Aria went to drop Josh home, because he had to go and get his car a warrant.  Turns out it didn't start. SO he came back to hang out with me and Aria.  It took us a while to come up with the game plan, but Aria and I finally decided to go to the movies.  Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. We drove Josh into Newmarket as well and he drove home.  Aria and I got way too much food for the movies.  Subways, cookies, Maltesers, Jaffas, Frozen Coke.  Waaaay too much.  But the movie was quite good. Rather insane and my brain was gobbledygook at the end, but it was good.  Afterwards we went home and put on Criminal Minds.  Aria went To Josh's house to get her things from there for work, and then came back with ingredients to make cookie dough.  We have decided that if either of us broke up with our boyfriends, we would be the best people to go to.  Cookie dough, Lemonade and Criminal Minds.  Toooootally Epic.  We watched four episodes of Criminal minds, but we weren't really paying attention.  I was messaging Hamish slash playing tetris and Aria was just plain playing Tetris.  After four episodes I was tired and we went to bed.  I gave Aria a back massage, and then said night to Hamish and fell into the deepest sleep ever. ever.  I woke up at ten and drove Aria to work.  I totally know the back way from her House into town.  I used to go the long way, but I have successfully memorised the back way. Go me. :D I went and bought food for lunch and then I watched Miss Congeniality, and Just like Heaven.  Two equally LOL movies.  I cleaned up around the house a bit, then locked up said bye to Aria's house and left to go to Thames.  Where I happen to be now.  All in all, it was a rather awesome weekend, even if I didn't really do all that much.  I love Aria and Josh, I think Hamish and Rory are awesome.  I'm going to miss them all a ton when I'm gone.  But I won't be that long.  My life is quite insanely good at the moment :D  And I'm going to see Liv on Tuesday.   I'm quite excited.  We have some quite awesome conversations.

The Official Countdown Begins

It's The Official Countdown till when I leave.  It starts now, The 1st September.  I'm leaving on the 17th.
Today was the last day of my German lessons, and after multiple hours of slaving over books and listening to my tutor try and teach me pronunciation, I can proudly say I am more than just a beginner.  Which is totally fantastic, as I have just found out I will be attending some school in Berlin.  I'm really excited, I wonder if it's anything like school in Spain.  And I get to see Christine again!!! I'm so excited. :p  I think I already said that.

On the weekend I attended a goodbye for one of my best Friends Stephie, who is going to school in France for a year. We had dinner at a French Creperie and it was delicious.  All our friends were there and it was an overall good night.  It's sad saying goodbye to someone, but I am following her over to Europe soon, and I'm definitely going to go and visit her in Angers when I am over there :D

I'm slowly documenting my last days here before I leave, a sad yet happy process :D.

I'll start off with the leaving dinner for Stephie, getting ready and the dinner itself.  Getting ready was fun, as I had my new top from Allanah Hill, which was a purchase the previous week.  It was rather an expensive purchase, bu I treated myself after gaining distinction in my grade 8 singing exam :D  The skirt is also new, but somewhat cheaper from Glassons.  And I actually fitted into a size ten.  That's what happens when you stay in a basement without all that much food.  I was really excited.  I had also invested in multiple new makeup items, especially my new Yves Saint Laurent Mascara :D

Getting ready for Stephie's and Dinner

Yes, I admit, I'm a little vain, but it's been a while since I've gone out, and seeing as it could be my last in this country for a while, I want to document it. Now the dinner.  I didn't take any photos of the food, because my camera wouldn't do it justice.

The whole crew.  I'm right at the very very end.

The day after Stephie's I helped my mom to clean out the basement as lots and lots and lots of old crap was just left stranded outside, and the weather hasn't been that great, so she thought that we should move it down to the boat shed, which is actually a decent walk from the house.  Well maybe 200-300 metres, but when you're carrying boxes and wheelbarrows of stuff downhill, it's a long way.  I haven't been in the boat shed for a while, and I thought I would snap some piccies while I was down there.  Also I'm collecting memories for when I'm away, and what better than to take photos of my second home here in Auckland :D  Also I was in the mood for avoiding the somewhat annoying Resident above me, who never stops talking in her uber annoying English accent.  Here's to memories :D

I think the monochrome gives it a somewhat nostalgic feel.  Rather nice.

There are so many things I'm going to miss, and so many things I'm going to leave behind when I leave, so I'll try and upload some every day.  I have so many things to say goodbye to.  But I'm really excited for what the future holds.

I'm quite excited. Until tomorrow.
Auf Widersehen.
